10 Jan Georgio’s Seafood and Steakhouse – Beaconsfield
Georgio’s Seafood & Steakhouse, just little way off the Monash freeway in Beaconsfield, does exactly as it advertises in its name; serving up steak and seafood in a warm, family run restaurant. Once a video rental store, now converted into a restaurant, Georgio’s head chef, John, oversees the kitchen while his father manages front of house. Together they are providing patrons with friendly service as well as generous serving sizes and quality meals. It’s old school dining, all the way south-east.
Saganaki, Garlic Prawns and Warm Ciabatta rolls are served with Balsamic, herb infused oil and house whipped butter. The Garlic Prawns are a winner, served in a creamy garlic and spring onion sauce. The Saganaki is for Saganaki fans only, we find the Greek cheese overly salty. For a good ol’ fashioned steak, consider the Mushroom steak lusciously smothered in a rich red wine gravy and plump mushrooms. Alas, the escalope potatoes were a tad undercooked. For some Italiano, the Chicken Romano Linguine has; mushroom, bacon, crusted tomato and chicken breast, merged with a touch of cream. Easily slurped and one for the pasta lovers.
For a sweet end, few things are as satisfying as cracking the caramelised layer of a Creme Brulee, Georgio’s did not disappoint on this account. The pillowy soft sponge of the Baked Alaska is complimented with crispy meringue and ice cream.
Georgio’s is by no means a fine restaurant. Whilst the notion of a classic 3 course dinner, is drowned amongst the emergence of sharing style dining, a classic restaurant such as Georgio’s Seafood & Steakhouse is harder to find. Whilst it lacks the bells and whistles of a trendy inner city eatery, the element of warm old school family dining, shines through. If your in the area, seeking a quality meal in a friendly, relaxed environment, say hello to Georgio’s.[/vc_column_text]
